A small idea for using this

Use it as a short warm-up, then invite the child to explain one answer.

A few things before you print

Which words are included, and can I edit the list?

The default has eight Halloween words such as PUMPKIN, GHOST and CANDY. Replace them with 4–12 different English words, 2–12 letters each. The answer key updates with the list.

Are words backwards or diagonal?

No words are reversed. The easy version uses across and down; the harder version also permits downward diagonals. Directions on the sheet identify the allowed directions.

Where is the word-search answer key?

It follows the student page in the prepared PDF. In the editor, choose Teacher references. New words and versions keep the puzzle and answer key paired.

How do I print without clipped edges or extra pages?

Match A4 or US Letter in the activity and printer settings. Use portrait orientation and Actual size (100%), and turn off browser headers and footers. Check one preview before printing copies.
